Transit Programs And Rates
Medicaid Recipients
Beginning July 1, 1995 Legislature passed a law requiring a copayment on most Medicaid Services. The copayment will be $1.00 per trip. To and from the destination will be $2.00 that the client is expected to pay at the time of service.
This policy does NOT APPLY to Medicaid recipients who are:
• under 21 years old; • residing in a nursing home or intermediate care facility for the developmentally disabled or participating in a hospice program; • pregnant; • currently enrolled in a Medicaid prepaid health plan or HMO for HMO covered services; • receiving family planning services; • treated for an emergency in a facility designated as an emergency facility.
Transportation Disadvantaged Non-Sponsored Recipients
Transportation disadvantaged means those persons who because of physical or mental disability, income status, or age are unable to transport themselves or to purchase transportation and are, therefore, dependent upon others to obtain access to healthcare, employment, education, shopping, social activities, or other life-sustaining activities, or children who are handicapped or high-risk or at-risk.
Non-sponsored riders are required to pay fare box rates as listed below. Fares are for a one-way trip are as follows :
Local $2.00, Sneads $5.00, Bristol $3.00, Chattahoochee $5.00, Marianna $5.00, Dothan $10.00, Wewa $ 5.00, Tallahassee $10.00, Quincy $6.00, Panama City $10.00, Chipley $7.00, Lake City $20.00, Gainesville $20.00, Pensacola $20.00
